The red kidney bean (bigger-seed variety) is called rajma in Hindi. Soak Rajma over night,drain it…Put this in pressure cooker and add a little bit of salt. Then switch off the flame and let the pressure go down automatically and open it up. The Beans should be soft when pressed.

  1. Soak kidney beans for 5-6hrs.make a paste onion,garlic and ginger
  2. Make a paste of tomato and green chillies,in a pan cook onion paste,add salt,turmeric powder and red chilli powder when onion released oil
  3. Add tomato puree and cook till oil released.add kidney beans and 2 glass water in the masala and pressure cooker for 3 whistle
  4. It's cooked now
  5. Transfer again in the kadai /pan add all dry spices and garnish with fresh coriander and serve with jeera rice
